The Colony Police Department is establishing a database of persons who reside within the city that, in the event an emergency evacuation order is given, would require physical assistance in being able to comply with the order.  The assistance can be for any reason but is specifically directed toward the elderly and the disabled.


The intent of the program is to allow public safety officials access to information in a timely manner in the event of such an emergency. 

An evacuation order can take many forms and for varying reasons.  Examples of reasons an order might be given include:  chemical leaks or gas leaks, fire situations, or police critical incidents.

Information obtained under this program is intended to expedite evacuation assistance.  It is no guarantee that assistance will be provided immediately.  The Colony will make every effort to assist persons in need as resources become available in the emergency situation.  Resources must first respond to the emergency event ensuring the safety of the public as a whole.  Membership in this program should not supersede personal emergency preparedness.
